Beverley Wood - the Healthy House Architect

About

I love buildings. I’m fascinated by the way they hold and shape our lives and want them to do that in the highest and healthiest way possible. Especially the one we have our most important relationship with – our home.

I’ve been an architect for over 30 years, starting out in mainstream building, and then specialising in healthy building as a Building Biology practitioner. This is the science of making buildings healthy for humans. Following my passion for the subtle energetic interaction we have with our homes, I also work as a Space Clearing practitioner and a Feng Shui practitioner.

I bridge between mainstream building and the world of subtle energy, and bring expertise of both to your home, to create spaces for your health in body, mind and spirit.

When you’re looking to improve your health and wellbeing, or simply wanting to live with your natural undimmed spark and vitality.

Creating homes for life

Biography and Training

My interest in health and wellbeing started with practicing yoga as a teenager and the first-hand experience of my own subtle energy or lifeforce – the force that brings life to our body, mind and spirit. I came to understand and experience what supported it in terms of food, exercise and movement, the quality of my sleep and rest, and the environment around me.
I also became a meditator, and continuing this in-depth exploration of subtle energies with the Clairvision School of Meditation. The clarity and subtle awareness that comes with meditation is a central motivation for me personally and it also directly informs my work.
This subtle lifeforce awareness has continued as a thread linking all my work.

I qualified in Architecture and continued to pursue these interests alongside my ongoing building projects.

I trained as a Shiatsu practitioner and came to understand and experience the way lifeforce, or chi, circulates around the body to promote health and vitality.

It was a small step to Feng Shui, considering the same thing in our buildings – the circulation of chi for promoting health and vitality. I was introduced to Feng Shui when it first arrived in the UK in the 1990s, and studied an intuitive approach to the Ba-Gua method with William Spear.

From here it was another direct step to Space Clearing when I trained with Karen Kingston in 2001. This is the art of clearing and revitalizing stagnant chi energies in our buildings, with the effect of shifting our own stagnation and supporting our lifeforce, clarity and vitality. The personal realisations it gave me, from living with this clarity, changed my life and has continued as a way of life for me.
Since then I’ve carried out hundreds of space clearings, for a wide range of people in many different kinds of homes and in many parts of the world

Continuing as an architect I worked at an ecological building centre – the first of its kind in the UK. I followed the principles of Building Biology, helping people to choose sustainable and healthy building materials and finishes for their homes. I studied Building Biology with the Institute for Building-Biology & Ecology in the USA and became a practitioner, integrating this important science of healthy buildings into my work.

I want our homes to be the places of health and vitality they’re supposed to be

I now bring together these scientific and subtle energetic approaches to health and wellbeing, to work as a healthy building consultant with people in their homes.
For anyone seeking to improve their health and wellbeing, or simply wanting to live with their natural undimmed spark and vitality.

Creating spaces for your health, comfort and delight!
